These are difficult times economically and many people are making hasty choices. The recent trampling death at a Long Island Walmart is just one example of how easy it is for people to get carried away It is not the first time this has happened.

More people are starting to think like home is the place to shop from with some degree of safety. I am doing more online shopping and this is one of my favorite birding guide stores to visit. And I love books and love to read. Lately I find I cannot get to as many libraries in person but I do visit the New York Public Library online. Exploring is contagious

I love to explore outdoors. Though the seasons have their effects on me also and sometimes I have to explore from indoors and read about the adventures of other people.

It is refreshing to explore nature with my bird binoculars even for a short while. It was simple things like this that got some of the great environmental movements started, individual people noticing small changes in which birds are numerous and which ones are no longer around. it softened the egg shells of birds and they did not survive. Silent Spring was a catalyst for major environmental movements in America in the 1970’s.
