Tips About Cleaning Shower Curtains
Are you looking for a way to wash your plastic bathroom shower curtain sets? Well you have come to the right place. Below is an overview of some of the methods you can use. Take a few minutes to read right to the end and see if none of the recommendations provided here will be useful to you.
Firstly, I am aware that changing curtains can be a rather daunting task and highly expensive at that. However, when the liner starts to develop some mold and becomes filled with soap scum - what then?
You can soak it in the bath with bleach and water. You need to be careful when using this method as over bleaching can have a negative effect on your beautifully colored purple shower curtain.
The simplest and effective method is to put it in the wash. Whether it’s a plastic or a plastic covered fabric just put it in the washing machine and it will be cleaned. Just make sure that it is set at non-rinse cycle and use normal detergent. You should also consider putting a towel in the wash so the towel abrasiveness can help clean it up.
Another option is to soak it in some soda crystals. This is considered to be more eco-friendly than bleaching. In addition it is superior than bleaching because it does not emit ant nasty smell. Using this method is simple and straight forward, simply add some water in a bath and add the crystals then leave the curtain in there overnight.
If you own a washing machine you can put your brown shower curtains in the wash and substitute the normal detergent with the soda crystals. For the conditioning part, simply use some vinegar. Note that I haven’t tried the vinegar myself but with so many testimonials I don’t see why it wouldn’t work for you - except for the smell.
