A Cookie Gift Basket Is A Great Idea

I can’t think of anyone who does not like cookies. A cookie gift basket is an ideal present for nearly everyone. They are a nice treat for someone who is recovering from an injury or for someone who just needs a little cheer. Cookies remind many of us of our childhood. Even the scent of cookies can bring a smile to a person’s face. There is no wonder why cookie gift baskets are growing in popularity.

Some people have the patience, skill and talent to create a cookie gift basket on their own. Many of my friends and relatives are avid bakers. They create amazing cookie treats from scratch and I simply scratch my head in wonder of their talent. Many of these friends and family members are also very crafty. These talented individuals have no trouble arranging even the most delicate cookies in a display that is as pleasing to the eye as it is to the palette.

I am not one of those people. You will never find me creating a cookie gift basket on my own. I do not have the patience that is required to bake from scratch. My idea of baking is breaking the cookie dough off of the square at the perforated seams. Even the pre-made cookie dough that comes in the very familiar log is too vexing for me. The dough is either too tough to cut or it is too soft and the dough winds up in a tangled mess.

Then there is the whole heating and waiting part. It requires some math skill. It also requires patience, which as I mentioned before, I am lacking. If I do finally create edible cookies, I doubt that I can create an appealing cookie gift basket because that requires even more patience in the attempt to arrange the cookies in an attractive fashion. In my experience, really good cookies are soft and the very thought of breaking an edible cookie that I made from scratch is unbearable.

When it comes to creating a cookie gift basket from the heart, I turn to the professionals. I can actually save a lot of time and money by simply ordering a cookie gift basket from someone who has the talent and the patience that I lack. I also want to make sure that I don’t give my loved ones anything that may lead to a tummy ache.

Chocolate Fountain Delight!

For thousands of years, people have raided the cacao tree to tickle their taste buds with the rapturous goodness of chocolate. There’s just something uniquely exhilarating about finding a bit of the sweet treat on the end of your tongue. That’s why billions of pounds of richness are consumed every year by chocolate-hungry people worldwide. It’s no surprise that chocolate ranks as the number one craved food. People just perk up when it’s time to indulge, and what better time to do so than at that special party?

From wedding receptions to Holiday party fountains to birthday parties to just about any occasion, chocolate makes the whole experience more exciting. There’s no better way to turn an ordinary party into an extraordinary one than to offer the smooth, enticing flow of liquid chocolate bubbling from a fountain.

Who can resist the magnetic pull of a chocolate fountain surrounded by tasty morsels of fruit and petit fours and marshmallows and sweetbreads—all just begging to be dipped? Chocolate fountains rentals provide more than just refreshment. They are entertaining and decorative, and like a water cooler at the office, they encourage conversation.

Following just a few simple guidelines will make your party sing with chocolate glory.

Skip the toothpicks and use long disposable bamboo skewers to help prevent fingers from getting too close to the fountain. You want the food to get drenched in chocolate, not your guests’ hands and sleeves.

Provide medium-sized plates, not saucer-sized ones, to provide more room for the skewers, thereby containing drips and helping to protect clothing from accidentally rubbing against a chocolate-edged plate.

Assign someone to keep the fountain area clean, the chocolate flowing, and the dipping foods and skewers plentiful. Party guests can’t help but feel good when their eyes stray, time and again, to that eternal river of chocolate decadence.

Fountains come in several sizes. You can choose one large fountain or a few medium-sized ones to scatter about the room. For sit down parties or receptions, small family-sized fountains ringed with colorful dipping foods, sprigs of greenery and stem-less flowers, make glorious centerpieces.

Mix it up! How about a chocolate smorgasbord with four fountains—one each of dark chocolate, white chocolate, cherry chocolate and mint chocolate? Then decorate to match. Picture a living backdrop of cherry blossoms behind your cherry chocolate fountain. That’s sure to get your guests talking!

Chocolate fountain rentals just makes people happy. And a chocolate fountain turns a party into an event!

Guide to Buying a Pizza Oven

Do you eat frozen pizza multiple times each week? Maybe it’s because all you need to do is stick them in the oven and in just a few short minutes you’ll have a filling meal.

Buying an oven just for baking pizza may make sense if you’re a serious pizza lover.

The small kitchen appliance pizza oven you plan to buy should offer the following:

Turns Regular Refrigerated Pizza into an Extraordinary Tasting Treat

You would think only fresh delivered pizza tastes better than pizza that is store bought frozen. However, smaller countertop pizza ovens can make frozen pizza taste better than larger kitchen ovens.

Reduces Baking Time and Energy Usage

Kitchen ovens need time to reach high temperatures before that are ready for baking a pizza. Fortunately, small pizza ovens that fit on the counter heat up immediately and don’t need to be preheated. These appliances are ready to cook a frozen pizza and will same time and energy. The 03430 is one example of a pizza oven that doesn’t require preheating and will have pizza ready in only minutes.

Gives Uniform Heat

Regular ovens may not bake a pizza evenly. But, there are small pizza baking kitchen appliances that have separate heating elements for baking the top and the bottom of the pizza together or separately. Pizza ovens with this feature lets you have control over the crispiness of the crust or the browning of the toppings. The 03430 includes two separately controlled top and bottom radiant heating elements for baking fresh or frozen pizza to anyone’s desired level of browning or crispiness.

User-Friendly and Uncomplicated

Ovens for the countertop are appropriate when baking smaller sized meals. Some of these ovens can bake a pizza as an after thought… However, there are pizza cookers designed just for baking whole pizza or anything that will fit a round platter that spins between top and bottom heating elements. These made for pizza ovens don’t have a door like regular countertop ovens. Instead, the pizza is outside so you can place ingredients while the pizza is still baking. The 03430 is the only pizza maker designed without an oven door and to bake a pizza outside on a pan while rotating between individually controllable top and bottom heating elements.

Clean Up is Quick and Easy

If cleaning up after making a pizza takes little effort, you’ll probably eat pizza many times a week. Small kitchen countertop ovens are built with non-stick pans that allow a pizza to slide out easily and also let you save time and effort on cleaning up afterwards.

Doesn’t Take Too Much Counter Space

Small kitchen appliance pizza ovens need very little counter space. Some have removable parts to make storing away easier if counter area is very limited.

When you finally start using a small kitchen appliance designed to bake frozen or fresh pizza and realize it taste better, saves you time and saves you money on your energy bills, that’s when you may never use a regular oven again for baking pizza.

Yellowfin Tuna, Pasta gift Basket and Balsamic Vinegar of Modena

Recently, I’ve discovered an interesting store offering a wide variety of exotic spices, foods and more. It’s CyberCucina.

Among the interesting items available:

  • Balsamic Vinegar of Modena. A variety of bottles labeled Balsamic Vinegar can be stumbled upon in most grocery stores. However, there is balsamic vinegar and then there is Balsamic Vinegar of Modena. One need not be a chef or connoisseur to tell the difference because the difference in taste is readily apparent.
  • Pasta Gift Basket.

Quoting directly from the CyberCucina web site:

We believe pasta is one of the most versatile food products available. With all of its shape variations and the myriad of sauce combinations, the possiblilities are practically endless.

Our Gourmet Pasta Sampler offers some familiar and some quite unique pasta cuts to enjoy. We begin with Croxetti, pasta discs in the shape of coins each stamped with a stalk of wheat. They are wonderful with substantial sauces such as pesto or walnut sauce.

Next we offer Troffiette. This thin, tight twist shaped pasta has the appearance of being hand rolled and then “pinched” at each end. It is commonly served with basil pesto or walnut pesto since its twisted shape holds these sauces nicely.

Trofiette is also delicious when served with fresh seasonal vegetables like green beans or spinach served with pancetta or potatoes in a rich meat based broth. Try trofiette with butter and fresh herbs served with a meaty fish or with shellfish.

Gnocchi are similar to potato dumplings. They are elegant served with a butter-sage sauce, and rustic and homey with a tomato based sauce.

Farro is an excellent grain which is a precursor of wheat and much easier to digest. It has a bit of a nutty flavor but works well with most sauce preparations. We offer two cuts of Farro pasta—Rigatini and Pizzichi.

We complete our selection with two small cuts of pasta which work well with soups as well as salads—Orzo, which is very similar to rice, and Fregola Sarda which is a bit like a large grain couscous.

The entire pasta collection is presented in a beribboned gift box and suits any gift-giving occasion.

  • Yellowfin Tuna

Tonnino tuna fillets with garlic in olive oil Offer a versatile alternative as the main ingredient in a salad, combined with rice or pasta as a main dish, or simply enjoyed as a canapé on soda crackers or toast.

Tuna is an excellent source of high quality protein, and is rich in a variety of important nutrients including minerals such as selenium, magnesium, and potassium; the B vitamins niacin, B1 and B6; and perhaps most importantly, the beneficial omega-3 essential fatty acids. In addition, our tuna is preserved in Olive Oil, another excellent dietary choice.

Tonnino tuna is wild caught, dolphin safe and hand packed in glass jars without preservatives, additives, or fillers.

Each jar of Tonnino Tuna Fillets with Garlic in Olive Oil contains 6.7oz. or 190g.

Call 1-800-796-0116 or visit our home page here for more information.

I’ve found this to be an exceptional online store with a wide variety of offerings. I’m sure you’ll enjoy and appreciate it as well.

Tea Blog - Enjoying Reading and Sipping

For many, tea is a very serious thing. You’d be suprised if you check that you can find one tea blog after another. Drinkers of the hot liquid tout the benefits of green tea, oolong tea, black tea, and white tea… to name a few. Of course there are many different brands and strengths to be considered.

There are those that not only drink the stuff, but collect all the various kinds, even those they do not personally like to drink. I guess that is no different than those that collect baseball cards, dolls, coins, etc… that collect them for their value or general interest. Along with the collecting of and appreciating tea, there are teacup and saucer collectors. All manner of shapes, sizes, and imbued valuable materials like gold, platinum, and silver can be found. Painstaking effort is often the norm in creating hand-crafted works of art designed to be held daintily at a tea party, or displayed on a shelf.

As you might guess, much rare and interesting information can be found on any given tea blog you might happen to read. Occasionally, great links to deals with good prices can be found at these sites. So for those regular teas you might drink, checking these sites can be a worthwhile use of time. Although there has been debate over high temperature drinks being bad for the digesitve system, you may have trouble ripping the cup out of many a dedicated and even addicted tea drinker’s grip on their flowered teacup.

Make Great Tasting Coffee with a Percolator

Often referred to as a cafettiera in Italy, a coffee perculator is the traditional machine used to brew coffee. Although still available as stove top models, more modern electric percolators provide more features.

There are a few different machines available to make coffee, such as espresso machines and French presses, but traditional coffee percolators are still pretty popular. The coffee produced from percolators can be quite strong and if you haven’t used one before it can take a few times of trial and error until you can make a nice cup of coffee.

The aromas that percolators create are fantastic and are great to have around the kitchen. Most percolators can produce many cups of coffee and can keep it warm for a considerable amount of time.

Percolators from Faberware are popular purchases. Their line includes models that can make 4, 8, or 12 cups of coffee at a time and come in fine chrome finishes. There are plenty of brands and models to choose from though, like Cuisinart, Sona, Hamilton Beach, Dualit and Prestige.

The Prestige percolator comes full of features, such as a ’stay warm’ feature so that your coffee can be kept and drank sometime after your first cup. Furthermore, there is a ready light to notify you when your coffee is ready to drink and an automatic boil dry safety cut-off and overheat protector.

The Dualit percolator is cordless, and in as little as 9 minutes can serve 10 cups of coffee. This machine also includes a ’stay warm’ function and ready neon light. When choosing your percolator there is not only the brands to choose from, but also the type of percolator.

Although an electric coffee perculator is commonly bought, there are still stove top models that you can buy. These can of course sit on the stove and keep warm whilst filling the kitchen with a nice aroma. The choice is yours!
